Former minister of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment Jacqueline Cramer, Nienke Keen from waste management company Milgro, Annemarie Manger from Aramis, along with our host Peter Melis, will ensure an incredibly engaging and inspiring evening! More about our speakers: Peter Melis will be hosting our event. Peter has a lot of experience on topics such as sustainability and circularity. Peter has hosted multiple similar events, and has been doing this since 2015. He is also a consultant and runs podcasts with regards to topics like energy transition and sustainability. With an abundance of experience Peter will elevate our Symposium and make it a fun and interactive experience. Introducing Jacqueline Cramer, a powerhouse in sustainability! Former minister, professor of sustainable innovation at Utrecht University, and transition manager for the circular economy. Her time as minister is characterized by her efforts in air quality, spatial planning, reestablishing climate projects, and waste management. In addition, she has worked at Milieudefensie, TNO, and her own consultancy firm. Jacqueline brings a wealth of expertise from both the public and private sectors. Nienke Keen, impact manager at Milgro, will give her perspective on the problem of waste in the context of social economic differences on a global level and explain how Milgro helps companies optimise their production chains to be less polluting, aiming for a waste-free world by 2040. Milgro is hired by businesses to enhance their waste management, not only by connecting waste generators with processors but also by streamlining the entire production chain. This way they offer a crucial piece of the puzzle for companies transitioning to the circular economy. Nienke also brings a wealth of experience from working in developing nations, offering a unique perspective on tackling sustainability challenges within a broader socio-economic narrative. Annemarie Manger is working on the Aramis project which aims to reduce a third of the total CO₂ emission in the Netherlands. They will do this by enabling the transport of CO₂ to depleted offshore gas fields under the North Sea. This project is a collaboration between TotalEnergies, Shell, Energie Beheer Nederland (EBN) and Gasunie and aims to make a significant contribution to the energy transition by reducing CO₂ emissions of big polluters. Her expertise in these industries will bring a unique perspective to this year’s symposium. This event is organized by Students4Sustainability in collaboration with SG.
